Report of Energy Consumption Comparison between 3 Phase Induction Motor and Permanent Magnetic Synchronous Motor

Jiangsu Canasin Weaving Co., LTD, JEMEC has 12 double twisters in their twister workshop, each machine equipped with a VFD driven 15kW 3 phase induction motor. After on-site survey, combining the actual working conditions, Huaian JEMEC Machinery Co. Ltd provided a energy-saving plan for double twisters by replacing the 3 phase induction motors by high efficiency Permanent Magnetic Synchronous Motors (PMSM). To verify the feasibility and to measure the energy-saving, JEMEC performed the comparison test, the method is to record the PMSM’s energy consumption by a power meters. As comparison, the power consumption of 3 phase induction motor of a same double twister was recorded too. During test time, 2 double twisters worked same time, and produced same material at same production rate.
