Xuyi Huayang Steel Tube Co. Ltd is a professional steel tube manufacturer, was also a big energy consumer. In order to reduce energy consumption thus to increase the profit, Huanyan entrust JEMEC to improve and optimize their motor to for energy-saving. 

 

The energy-saving improvement for hot-roll steel tube machine

       The original hot-roll steel tube machine was driven by 2x JR series induction motor, one motor’s type is: JSR137-6A, power 320kW and another is JSR128-6, power 155kW, duty type: S6, load duration about 50%.


       The original motors’ efficiency was low, and had worked for many years. Furthermore, because one motor’s power was not enough to drive the machine, another parallel driven motors were adopted. When make small size tubes, one motor didn’t work but being driven by another motor. In this case, there’s big power waste.



After careful evaluation, JEMEC raised the plan of using PMSM motor to replace the JSR motors, the details are:

The working current of PMSM motor when it was installed


The following calculation was based on: average working current: 545A, no load current: 40A, motor’s p.f. 0.95, the efficiency of inverter 0.97:


Annually active power:

(545A*380V*1.732*0.5+40A*380V*1.732*0.5)*0.95/0.97*20*360=1357505kW.h


Annually reactive power:

Reactive power=sqrt(1-0.98^2)*(1357505/0.98)=275653kVA.h


Comprehensive power saving


(1420200-1357505)+0.04*(1339200-275653)=105236kW.h
